Today we made pumpkins and spiders out of pipe cleaners. We tried to make the spiders unique and chose different coloured wools to create the body of a spider and added stickers for the eyes. The curly pumpkins we used pencils to wrap then pipe cleaner around and added a stork in the middle.
We used wax crayon to do some leaf rubbing, then to create a striking vibrant effect we used ink to paint the leaves. The children carefully blended inks together to create such Lovely Leaves.
Leaf Printing
In Art Club we used printing inks and rolled the ink onto the leaves to then press onto paper to create beautiful leaf art.
Mixing Green and Cute Halloween Art
During Art Club this week some of the Year 2 Art Club Helpers ran their own activities. We had one group exploring mixing red, yellow and blue to make green and seeing how many different colours they could mix. Some children decided to try mixing red and blue and were surprised they ended up with a purple colour. We also had one of our talented Year 2 Art club Helpers taking on a drawing activity showing children how they draw cute Halloween bats, ghosts and a wolf howling at the moon. It was great to see them taking on the responsibility to be leaders and run an activity.
During our first week in Art Club it was a free choice, children could choose to colour or create a picture of their choice. We had lots of beautiful, colourful art.
