Sports Day
Well done to everyone that took part in our sports day. The weather remained nice for us and it was lovely to see so many parents and grandparents cheering you all on.

Computing
Class 2 have been experimenting with programming. They used The Indie bot to identify what actions the square tiles do. This then enabled them to use the tiles to correctly position to create an algorithm for the Indie bot to follow.
They used challenge cards to find out what the missing tiles would be to get them from a single starting point to arrive at the end point.

English - Peru Writing
The children have really enjoyed researching their new topic at home. They have found out all kinds of facts including what the flag looks, what animals live there and what the landscape looks like.
In English the children have listened to the story ‘Up and down the Andes’ which describes the journey to the ‘Festival of the Sun’ which is celebrated on the 24th June.
The children have used their comprehension skills to answer questions about the festival and made invitations to ask a friend to join them in celebrating Inti Raymi.

Fish Printing Art
Class 2 children had chance to take part in an Art Club activity in Art and created some beautiful printed fish swirl pictures. They were amazed to see the finished results and tried printing inside the template and on the outside of the template to get different pieces of art.

Art
As we have been thinking about our amazing oceans and how we have so many beautiful sea creatures in them. Today we looked at Jellyfish. We used pastel chalks to create some vibrant Jellyfish art.

Design and Technology
In D.T we have been using our topic focus of recycling to design and make recycling bins using cardboard boxes. We had some really creative ideas and everyone had great fun making them.

We had a wonderful time at the British Ironwork Centre with the children being amazed at the sheer size of the art sculptures. They all looked closely to try and identify recycled metal parts used to create the various sculptures. We all enjoyed going on the robot trail and finding out more about the robots. It really was an inspiring day and such an exciting start to our recycling theme.
