IMPORTANT NOTICE
The year 1 children have now taken their maths boxes home, and this week the teachers have put a list of tasks to complete weekly, between now and the end of term. We hope you enjoy having a look at how we do maths in school!
Art
We made printing blocks by drawing a design onto card, covering it in double sided tape and then sticking string on to create a raised printing block.
Here is a snapshot of our Class 1 children having fun outside. Reception children do lots of learning outdoors as well as indoors so having warm, waterproof clothing is really important. We thought you'd like to have a look at them having a bit of outdoor play this week.
Art
We designed a pattern for a tile and then drew this onto polystyrene. We then rolled paint onto the tile and placed this onto paper. As we removed the tile our designed were revealed.
Science
We made windsocks, we then wrote a list of instructions on how to make them and after that we took them outside to test them and see which direction the wind was blowing.
Children in Need
Thank you to everyone that took part in Children in Need to help us raise funds for this wonderful charity.
Remembrance Day
We made poppies for Remembrance Day
We painted poppies for Remembrance Day
Computing
The Year 1 children practiced using keyboards in computing this week.
Art - Rangoli Patterns
Year 1 children looked at Indian patterns and created their own Rangoli patterns.
Phonics
Reception built CVC words.
Art
Reception children made beautiful chalk firework drawings.
We had an afternoon of Halloween and Autumn themed activities for children to choose from. Lots of opportunity for them to develop their fine motor skills too.

Art
We completed our traditional tales college Art in the style of Eric Carle.

In Art we have painted large sheets of paper and added texture ready to create our under the sea collages in the style of Eric Carle.
Maths
We have been learning about 2D shapes.

Our Reception children have been thinking hard about the letters they have been learning. They are very good at remembering the sound each letter makes but are now beginning to practise writing the letters. They have used sand trays to help them with this.
Maths
We have been counting using conkers.
Art
We used the painted, textured paper we had made to create our own art in the style of Eric Carle.
